Right, so I've been obsessed with the Libertines lately and since everything comes back to both Velvet Goldmine and the Marauders, does anyone else see shades of James Potter/Brian Slade and Sirius Black/Curt Wild in Pete Doherty and Carl Barât, or is it just me?

ONE MORE FINAL TO GO. THEN I AM DONE WITH SUMMER SCHOOL.

What on earth possessed me to think that I could perform well in FOUR summer classes? Oi, packing's a semester's worth of material into a six week period is defintely hard on the brain. The fact that I'm still to string together coherent sentences after my Milton final amazes me. My Milton final comprised of 119 short answer objective questions.

Let me reiterate that:

ONE HUNDRED NINETEEN FUCKING SHORT ANSWER OBJECTIVE QUESTIONS. To be completed in 90 minutes. Not fill in the blanks, not multiple choice, not true/false. SHORT ANSWER OMFG.

Anyway, instead of studying for exams or even paying attention in class, I was, of course, doodling.

I don't know if many people read this journal or if you're at all inclined to help me but here's the situation.

In December 2004, I had a very severe skiing accident in which I fell over 1000 feet and badly dislocated my knee, so badly that there was a definite possibility of amputation. Fortuntely, my leg wasn't taken, but I had to have major reconstructive surgery done on my knee. I'm now five months post-operation and I haven't yet regained my full range of motion. The doctor told me last week that I will probably never again have a "normal" knee. I've been good about coping with this until now, but I've been rather depressed during my entire convalescence because I will probably never be able to run or dance or jump or even wear heels again.

I'm requesting distraction. Period. Art, fic, etc. Anything. I am especially partial to crackfic. I love James/Sirius, Cho-fic, Snupin, big-bang-esque Harry/Draco, post-Hogwarts Harry/Hermione, but really, anything works. Just...distract me. Please.

Reasons life sucks right now:

1) UCLA is retarded.
2) NYU is retarded.
3) Transferring summer course credits from UCLA to NYU is uber-difficult.
4) All schools should run on the semester system, dammit!
5) The G on the e string of my guitar seems to have disappeared entirely and has since then rebirthed itself as a note a half-step sharper. Every other note on the e string plays normally.
6) The F# on the e string sounds as though it's following in G's footsteps.
7) I have terrible writer's block and cannot work on my novel.
8) I have been sober since before Christmas. BEFORE CHRISTMAS.
9) I am stuck in Los Angeles where it is rainy and cold.
10) I am not in New York, where I should be.

But, on the cheerful side, I did do some more artwork.
