I know I'm not quite terribly active in fandom anymore, but I do follow along when the mood hits.
Firstly: I don't know exactly how active I'll be (many mitigating factors: work, writing an original novel, etc.), but I've made an account at
InsaneJournal. I will be cross-posting work also making an archive.

Click to friend me!
(It's a community...I find this logging out and logging in from real life to fandom incredibly frustrating.)Secondly: I did not fall off the bandwagon. I saw
Order of the Phoenix the night it was released with a good friend. We even dressed up as Cho and Hermione (I was Cho, she was Hermione). It was HELL. HELL. (Not the movie.) Lost tickets, delayed viewings, movie theatre asshattery...but overall, I thought the movie was quite
excellent.
Thirdly: I had
Deathly Hallows preordered forever, but in a fit of terrible planning, I realised that I wouldn't be in New York for its release as I agreed to go fishing with my dad in Chesapeake Bay that day. I had Amazon ship it to my parents' house. It was a trying weekend: I arrived in Philadelphia two hours later than anticipated because I got on the
wrong train and accidentally made it to Delaware and then I had to get up at 4:30 in the morning to drive down to Maryland. The book itself didn't arrive until that afternoon. Then my parents and I went out to dinner. So I didn't start reading until 9:30 but I soldiered on and finished.
I still have mixed feelings about it.
'Tis all.
